Showcasing the Latest Theological Scholarship

Studies in Christian History and Dogmatics (SCHD) is a brand-new monograph series from B&H Academic highlighting the very best scholarship of recent PhD graduates.

In a competitive annual process, early career scholars submit dissertation work for an opportunity to be published in a future SCHD volume. Honorees will be presented the B&H Academic Award for Theological Promise at the ETS Annual Meeting and also receive a cash prize and other incentives.

Proposals are due annually on May 1st and are reviewed between May and July.

The mission of B&H Academic is to publish research and resources that deepen the church’s knowledge of Christ by drawing on the wellspring of Scripture and the wisdom of orthodox Christianity. The SCHD series reinforces this mission while making a concrete investment in the next generation of scholars who serve the church.

Eligibility

SCHD invites proposals from scholars who have completed a PhD in historical or systematic theology, or a closely related field, within the past three years. Proposals are evaluated on the significance of the question addressed, the quality of the research, the contribution to the field, and the fit of the project with the aims of the series.
